Patriotic Pageant Swim Suit in size 4t

This is one of my favorite patriotic outfits I've made so far.  I used red, white and blue stretch lace as the trim on a white with gold polka dot swim suit, star and fancy gold buttons, rhinestones, sequins and my favorite part, a mini Uncle Sam hat on a star glitter headband.

I found this denim romper at the store and thought it was too cute to pass up.  It made the perfect base for me to start frosting in red, white, blue and gold!

 Red, White and Blue with a pill box hat.  

Stars and Stripes:  Navy and white striped top criss crosses in the back with red sparkle ruffle, sequined white lace, handmade stars with swarovski crystals, and feather detail in the shoulder.  Bottoms have red sparkle ruffle, white sequined lace and white mesh strips.  Hat is pill box styled with a red flower and white feathers.

I have been staring at my huge pile of fabric and decided that summer is the perfect time to start making use of some of it since I have more time on my hands with the kids out of school.  I had some left over lavender silk which I love love love from the first classical tutu I made my daughter a few years ago and I also had some purple fabric that doesn't fray (I'm not sure what it is) so I thought those two fabrics would make a high class Hawaiian pageant outfit.

I hand cut each strip which took a while

I sewed on a silk waistband

Each flower has a sequin hand sewn in the center

I strung faux hydrangeas and iridescent beads onto ribbon to make leis

decorations for ankle and wrist
